Translation of clinical markers for oxygen deficiency in newborns into a new diagnostic tool for the prevention of early infant brain damage and guidance of individualized therapy
OBJECTIVE
- early detection of oxygen deficiency in newborns to prevent later damage
- as well as improving the nutritional status of preterm infants
AIM OF THE PROJECT
Development of novel Point-of-Care (PoC)-capable diagnostic systems for the reliable detection of asphyxia
- quantification of small endogenous metabolites via nanopore-based test system and other rapid tests
- diagnosis of asphyxia via metabolite panels as biomarkers
TASKS
-> data preparation and analysis
-> statistical and bioinformatic analysis
