Measuring Muscle Stiffness

OBJECTIVE
- The correlation between muscle stiffness and musculoskeletal pain is still unclear.
- This can be investigated by using ultrasound shear wave elastography.
- Ultrasound shear wave elastography is a non-invasive in-vivo technique for measurements of tissue stiffness of superficial and deep muscles.
- The interpretation of elastograms can further improve the evidence-based therapy of myofascial pain.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
Analysis of the correlation of local electrical muscle excitation and local tissue stiffness.
TASKS
-> Data preparation
-> Analysis by using various statistical methods (Spearman correlation, uni- and multi-variate mixed-effect models)
-> Development of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithm.
